Dear PYLUSD Neighbor,

I am Maria Lupita Stubbs, your trusted school board candidate for Area 2 of the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD)

I am a mom of two beautiful young children. I am an Industrial and Systems Engineer by trade and as you will hear in my introductory video clips below, I am passionate about languages. Besides English I am fluent in Spanish, as I was born and raised in Mexico; I also speak some German and French.

I have great respect and am most impressed by the quality and caliber of our District’s staff and teachers.

I am honored for the opportunity this upcoming election, on November 5th 2024, to ask for your vote in order to serve and represent you, your family and your students as your board trustee. Let me share with you my vision and priorities by Putting Kids First at PYLUSD:

1. πŸ›‘οΈ Safe Schools: Safety first! As a mom myself, ensuring a safe environment for all students is my priority. I advocate for increased school resource officers (SROs) at our school sites. I also advocate for an immediate comprehensive safety and security audit at each of our high schools, middle schools and elementary schools. I will promote and approve measures, resources  and investments that keep our children safe.

2. πŸ’°Student Access: Kids deserve a well-rounded education. I want to reduce financial burdens on parents and guardians for extracurricular actives such as sports, music and arts programs, by practicing fiscal responsibility through innovative funding strategies, and not by reliance on local bond measures or unsustainable loans. I want to make it easier for parents and guardians to learn more about their rights and the available academic and enrichment options to guarantee equal opportunity.

3. πŸŽ“ Academic Student Achievement: I believe that education can change one’s future. I vow to advocate for strategies that support academic performance improvement. I am a firm supporter of District funded intervention programs in math, reading and writing. I want to expand innovative learning opportunities, including internships, summer programs and after-school support, ensuring every student reaches his or her full potential.

4. πŸ‘¨‍πŸ‘©‍πŸ‘§‍πŸ‘¦Parent and Guardian Engagement: We, parents and guardians are at the forefront of the education of our children. I am a firm believer in the collaboration equation towards student success: family + school + community. I will ensure that parents and guardians always have easy access to curriculum resources taught in the classrooms. I will advocate for the preservation of the District’s existing parental notification systems and an enhanced culture of collaboration and communication between schools and parents/guardians.

I invite you to join me as we embark on a new era of education, lifting up teachers, trailblazing innovation and excellence, creating more opportunities for student success, and putting our PYLUSD kids first!

I also invite you to please sign up to our campaign mailing list to get updates between now and November 5th 2024; follow us on our social media platforms via Facebook, Instagram, Youtube, and X. Check out our constantly updated News/Blog page to stay informed.

Education and community leaders throughout the county have enthusiastically endorsed my candidacy because they know I will ensure safe environments for all children; promote parent and guardian engagement; and demand continued fiscal responsibility and emphasis on academics to which our current administration is firmly committed. You can view the list of my endorsers HERE

Warmest regards,

Meet María Lupita

πŸ’°πŸ’΅ Marylin Anderson Fully Backed by the Union, But Not the Community

It is now absolutely apparent that my opponent, Marilyn Anderson, is fully backed by the union (APLE), and they are pouring thousands of dollars into her political campaign. Why?

…Because she votes the way the union wants her to vote, ignoring the voices of parents and the community.

I am 100% grassroots and supported by the community. My donations come directly from the people I aim to represent. I will not allow the union to bring their politics and social and gender issues into the classroom. Marilyn Anderson has allowed this for years. I cannot be bought by a union, a political action committee (PAC), or a corporation. I will work for our community.

Let me be clear: We love our PYLUSD teachers! Our teachers deserve transparency about where their hard-earned dues to APLE are going. It’s a disgrace that APLE is running campaigns for political candidates, printing expensive signs, and paying for man-hours, all off the backs of our hardworking teachers.

A vote for me is a vote for putting kids first!

Proud to Announce OC GOP Endorsement for PYLUSD Board!

I am very proud to have won the Orange County Republican Party endorsement. The choice was made between two candidates: myself and the incumbent, Marylin Anderson. The choice was clear.

...Why? Because the OC GOP committee understands that I fully represent the values and principles of the community I seek to represent as PYLUSD Board Trustee.

The OC GOP committee overwhelmingly placed their confidence in me as the true conservative candidate when compared to incumbent Anderson...

Protecting Our PYLUSD Kids Online

I join Leandra Blades in denouncing the despicable misconduct by individuals talking and posting on social media about minor children, including but not limited to children of district staff and board members. I firmly denounce this misconduct, where individuals are following a child’s social media profile for purposes that seem like stalking, and implying that parental abuse could happen at the new Universal Sports Institute (USI).

Posting pictures of minors without parental consent, whether faces are blurred or not, is NOT okay. I denounce these actions and join you, Trustee Blades, in demanding that those posts be taken down immediately!
